About this tour
The Maasai Mara is where most people picture an African safari: open grassland running to the horizon, lions resting in the shade of a lone acacia, and — from July to October — over a million wildebeest crossing the Mara River.
This three-day safari gives you two full sunrises in the reserve. You travel in a pop-up roof 4x4 reserved for your group, so you decide how long to stay with a cheetah on the hunt or a herd at the river. Your driver-guide has spent years tracking wildlife in the Mara and knows where the prides have been seen that week.
Park fees vary with the season: lower from January to June and higher from July to December, when the migration is in the Mara. The price shown is from the low-season rate; we confirm your exact total before you pay.

Itinerary

Day 1
Nairobi to the Maasai Mara
Early pick-up from your hotel or JKIA. Drive west with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, then on through Narok to the Mara. Check in, have lunch, and head out on your first afternoon game drive as the light turns golden.

Day 2
A full day in the Mara
Leave after breakfast for a full day in the reserve with a picnic lunch. Follow lion prides, look for cheetah and leopard, and from July to October wait at the Mara River for a wildebeest crossing. Back at camp for sundowners.

Day 3
Sunrise game drive and return
An early game drive when predators are most active, then breakfast and check-out. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. We can drop you at your hotel or the airport.

Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 30 days before departure. Cancellations 8–29 days before departure are refunded 50% of the tour price; cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable. Park fees and train tickets already paid to third parties may not be recoverable. Date changes are free up to 14 days before departure, subject to availability.
